Adding some sparkle ...

… to brighten up these midwinter days!

I don’t do a lot of custom work, but sometimes the request from a friend can inspire a whole new line. I made these for one of my favourite performers, Patrice Haan. Patrice has no trouble lighting up the stage with her smile, but she wanted some new earrings that would sparkle in the footlights. And that got me thinking …

So. I broke my own rule of never using lab-grown gemstones. These square-cut cubic zirconium sparkle in the lights as bright as any diamond. Which made me think of a diamond shape for the silver ‘window’. If you follow my recent fabric-inspired work, you’ll recognize the ribbon-like texture on the silver.
